This is my first post, and it is not about software. ✍️
For years I thought cigarettes helped with stress, focus, and breaks. Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking flipped that story: nicotine creates a small itch, then sells you the relief of scratching it. The “pleasure” is mostly ending the discomfort the last cigarette caused. 💡
Carr calls that physical itch the little monster. It dies in a few days. The big monster is the belief that smoking does something useful. Willpower fights cravings while that belief stays intact. Easy Way attacks the belief first. Once the cigarette stops looking like a friend, you are not giving anything up — you are getting out. 🚪
I was struggling to get my focus and happiness back without smoking. I am not a doctor, and one post is not a substitute for the book — but if the method clicks for you, read Carr’s book all the way through, then stop. No mourning. No “just one.” Celebrate immediately. 🎉
